Collage!

The collage station is open in every art class!

Van Gogh Sunflowers

Students learned about texture by making sunflowers. They observed Vincent van Gogh's Sunflowers. They drew the flower with glue, let it dry, and used chalk pastels to add color.

Printmaking

The printmaking station was opened this week. Each grade was shown a different technique for printmaking (monoprint on plastic, relief print, folded paper monoprint). Here are some of the results!

They Like Me?!

Today a child told me that he wanted the yearbook dedicated to me. It made my day!

TAB

After going to an art conference, I was inspired to try Teach for Artistic Behavior. This is a method of teaching that creates more student centered learning. This has definitely been a challenge for me. It has been hard for me to let the control go from my hands to the children's hands. But, little by little, it is happening. I love that my kids are being responsible for their own learning and also finding what they love about art!
